SHOULDER PAIN
Shoulder Pain
30% of Americans will have shoulder pain at some point in life. It’s one of the most common joints to suffer an injury. It’s also quite common to experience irritation of the suprascapular nerve. It’s a major nerve branching from the cervical spine through the shoulder. It’s very easy to compress the nerve, known medically as suprascapular neuropathy, because of it’s location. Sports involving overhead motion, cysts in the shoulder or a poorly-shapend shoulder blade may lead to compression.
Arthritis, bursitis or a shoulder injury can also cause shoulder pain. Injuries may include impingement syndrome, frozen shoulder, or rotator cuff and labral tears.
